Carl Apicella is a founding Member and serves as President of American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEGL). He has over 22 years of experience in the solid waste and environmental industry, and proven expertise in the operation and general management of solid waste landfills. Previously, Mr. Apicella was employed by SwireBFI in Hong Kong (1994-2000), where he last served as General Manager of the WENT Landfill, one of the largest landfill operations in Asia. Mr. Apicella was President of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGA) from 2008-2010 and currently serves as Past President. He holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University.

Peter AugustinTreasurer
Peter Augustin is one of the founding Members and serves as Treasurer of American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEGL). Mr. Augustin has over 21 years of experience in the solid waste and environmental industry. Prior to his entry into the solid waste industry, he was involved in heavy civil, specialty foundation, and underground utility construction. Mr. Augustin has been responsible for the development and management of several large scale design-build solid waste construction projects including landfill closures, groundwater remediation, slurry trench containment systems and green field landfill site developments. He holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida.

Mike MaurerSecretary, General Manager, LFG Construction
Mike Maurer is one of the founding Members and serves as Secretary/General Manager of LFG Construction of American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEGL). Mr. Maurer has over 22 years of experience in the environmental construction industry in both landfill gas and leachate system installation as well as oil and natural gas well drilling. Mr. Maurer is responsible for the overall performance of the LFG Systems Installation Division, including LFG well drilling, pipeline installation, leachate extraction systems, and LFG flare installation.
Ernie VallorzChief Financial Officer
Ernie Vallorz is a Member and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of American Environmental Group, Ltd. (AEGL). Ernie most recently was the Relationship Team Manager for the KeyBank N.A.’s Commercial Banking Division. Prior to that Mr. Vallorz was Managing Director with KeyCorp’s McDonald Investments, Key Buisness Advisor Services. Mr. Vallorz is a CPA and JD and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Political Science from Augustana College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
